Our Journey

In 2015, we completed a journey between Orihuela court and London Royal Court of Justice on foot. 44 marathons in 44 days with the hope of raising awareness of parental child abduction and parental alienation and also, on a very personal level, to show my daughter that I would travel the world for
her.

On that occasion, we raised funds for the Reunite
International Child Abduction Centre Charity

This time, with our cycle, as well as having another attempt at raising awareness of these issues, we hope to help to raise funds for another charity Parental Alienation Awareness (1187738) who aim to raise awareness, educate, & campaign against this form of child abuse that needlessly disconnects children, parents, & their extended families.

This, many of you know, I can directly relate to...

We are hoping to raise £2000 to help with publishing and distribution costs in the production of parental alienation awareness brochures.

I understand the covid situation has caused financial hardship for many.. Charities like this are also finding these times extremely testing.

If you cant help financially, thats ok. But could I ask that you share my JustGiving page link so others can help to support this worthy charity?

Thanks all xx

Day 7 - Le Barcares

Today was due to be my last day in Spain as we were crossing the border into France and Mike's last day of the ride.

Unfortunately, as you may know if you have been following this blog, I fell ill in Alcoy which needed some medical attention and due to some cardio irregularities I was taken to hospital for tests.

This was a shock to me as I have always been free from serious illnesses but due to the fact that this was heart related, I was advised not to continue at this time.

Obviously, I have been distraught about this as I felt like I was letting people down and this has been so long in the planning.. Not to mention the people who had kindly sponsored me.

As a update, Please don't worry.. I will be ok.

It was a wake up call for me to realise I am not in my 20s anymore but the irregularities do not appear serious. However, I have to await Holter monitor before I make any plans for strenuous exercise. Health must come first!!

I saw cardiologist last night and have further appointments over the coming weeks.

I will update the blog daily still as I still wish to complete the distance I had planned to do but it might have to be locally so I can be monitored and shorter distances over longer period of time. I also want to continue to support the charity.

Thank you everybody for your kind words x
