Our Journey

In 2015, we completed a journey between Orihuela court and London Royal Court of Justice on foot. 44 marathons in 44 days with the hope of raising awareness of parental child abduction and parental alienation and also, on a very personal level, to show my daughter that I would travel the world for
her.

On that occasion, we raised funds for the Reunite
International Child Abduction Centre Charity

This time, with our cycle, as well as having another attempt at raising awareness of these issues, we hope to help to raise funds for another charity Parental Alienation Awareness (1187738) who aim to raise awareness, educate, & campaign against this form of child abuse that needlessly disconnects children, parents, & their extended families.

This, many of you know, I can directly relate to...

We are hoping to raise £2000 to help with publishing and distribution costs in the production of parental alienation awareness brochures.

I understand the covid situation has caused financial hardship for many.. Charities like this are also finding these times extremely testing.

If you cant help financially, thats ok. But could I ask that you share my JustGiving page link so others can help to support this worthy charity?

Thanks all xx

Day 1 did not go to plan ☹️

Guys.. I am so so sorry and feel like I have failed everybody.

Sorry I have been so quiet but at the end of first day I took ill being violently sick and collapsed in the shower.

This was after Mike had already had to end the first day due to high pulse which may have been due to the extreme heat for which we felt like the only sensible course of action was to arrange for him to return home immediately

My hope today was to carry on to Valencia to skip a stage to recover (stage 2) and explain to unavoidable break on this blog.

However, on medical advice, I have been told not to continue as I have not fully recovered from kidney infection (at the same time as covid) and risk further perminent damage to the kidneys. I also have an extremely low blood pressure reading atm.

I have to think of a way now of doing something so as to not let my sponsors down. This may be something along the lines of a virtual ride to complete the distance that I was originally doing but locally to ensure that I can be monitored but for over a longer period of time...

I really dont know what else I can do and feel extremely dejected at this time.

I have to thank Michelle so much for supporting us.. It was not easy for her and must have driven miles.. Not to mention the worry I put her through seeing me in such a bad way at the side of the road and at the hostel

I am having to rest now but will update the blog as soon as I feel up to it.. Once again I am so so sorry ☹️
