Taking into consideration I'm a casual cyclist.. Not by any means an expert.. And getting on a bit in years, Tandem Across Borders - Spain to UK will be a challenge..
I do keep fairly fit but this won't be easy... Its over 2700km in 21 days!!
Those who know me, know how stubborn I am though.. I dont give up on a challenge 😜and I won't be told I can't do it.. It will be an experience..
It will also be fantastic to see and ride with various people en route. Some of these people will be parents affected by parental child abduction / parental alienation.
Travelling through the first week from Orihuela Costa to the French border will be Mike Henstridge ... Thanks Mike 💪.. Also Iamalen Iamalen will be riding with me into London on the final day.
One of the two charities we are supporting on this cycle is the Alice's Escapes Charity
If anyone had unbelievable courage in the most heartbreaking of situations, it was Alice Pyne . She was an absolute inspiration, as are her sister Milly Pyne and mother Vicky Pennington-Pyne
Alice, when she became ill at such a young age, created a bucket list of things she wanted to do in the time she had left.. And she achieved many of them, including setting up the Alice's Escapes Charity ..
THAT is "strength, grit and determination" that our cycle doesn't even come close to!!!!
She never ever gave up .. This is her legacy so we are happy to be able to help in a small way to keep that alive.

The second of the two charities supported is Parental Alienation Awareness
Over the years I have met people through Parental Child Abduction/Parental Alienation groups and organisations who are amazing people.
Many are dedicated, LOVING parents and grandparents who have been completely let down by the family court processes.
Some have suffered mental, financial and physical trauma through their experiences and in a couple of instances I know first hand, they not only felt forced to give up on seeing their children, they tragically gave up on life.... Who is responsible for this?
The children are obviously affected too as they are often affected by the erasing of a parent and family that love them wholeheartedly in the most heinous tactics possible.
It needs people to do something to raise awareness of these issues and not just give sympathy for these situations.
Thankfully, a new charity has been set up in UK, Parental Alienation Awareness who aim do do just that.
Everybody can do something but doing nothing achieves nothing.. Being a bystander achieves nothing other than empowering the failures in the family court system that have lead to the situation many families find themselves in today..
As part of this cycle, THIS is what I wish to raise awareness of..
If you don't understand how bad this is, then you are blessed.. I wish I didn't either...

Mike Henstridge viajará durante la primera semana desde Orihuela Costa hasta la frontera con Francia... Gracias Mike 💪... También Iamalen Iamalen viajará conmigo a Londres el último día.

A lo largo de los años, he conocido personas a través de grupos y organizaciones de Secuestro de menores por parte de los padres/Alienación de los padres que son personas increíbles.
Muchos son padres y abuelos dedicados y AMOROSOS que han sido completamente defraudados por los procesos de la corte de familia.
Algunos han sufrido traumas mentales, financieros y físicos a través de sus experiencias y, en un par de casos que conozco de primera mano, no solo se sintieron obligados a renunciar a ver a sus hijos, sino que trágicamente renunciaron a la vida... ¿Quién es responsable de ¿esta?
Obviamente, los niños también se ven afectados, ya que a menudo se ven afectados por la eliminación de un padre y una familia que los aman de todo corazón en las tácticas más atroces posibles.
Necesita que la gente haga algo para crear conciencia sobre estos temas y no solo simpatizar con estas situaciones.
Afortunadamente, se ha creado una nueva organización benéfica en el Reino Unido, Parental Alienation Awareness, cuyo objetivo es precisamente eso.
Todos pueden hacer algo, pero no hacer nada no logra nada. Ser un espectador no logra nada más que empoderar las fallas en el sistema de tribunales de familia que han llevado a la situación en la que muchas familias se encuentran hoy.
Como parte de este ciclo, ESTO es lo que deseo crear conciencia..
