Our Journey

In 2015, we completed a journey between Orihuela court and London Royal Court of Justice on foot. 44 marathons in 44 days with the hope of raising awareness of parental child abduction and parental alienation and also, on a very personal level, to show my daughter that I would travel the world for
her.

http://walkacrossborders.blogspot.com/

On that occasion, we raised funds for the Reunite
International Child Abduction Centre Charity

This time, with our cycle, as well as having another attempt at raising awareness of these issues, we hope to help to raise funds for another charity Parental Alienation Awareness (1187738) who aim to raise awareness, educate, & campaign against this form of child abuse that needlessly disconnects children, parents, & their extended families.

This, many of you know, I can directly relate to...

We are hoping to raise £2000 to help with publishing and distribution costs in the production of parental alienation awareness brochures.

I understand the covid situation has caused financial hardship for many.. Charities like this are also finding these times extremely testing.

If you cant help financially, thats ok. But could I ask that you share my JustGiving page link so others can help to support this worthy charity?

Thanks all xx

Shani Ormiston - Dancing By The Mistletoe

Check out our amazingly talented friend Shani Ormiston 's 2021 Christmas song "Dancing By The Mistletoe".

Such a catchy tune and fun video which Michelle and I had the pleasure of watching the production of 😍 and helping with in our very small way.. 😁🎅 🎄

Shani has been wonderful support for us with any charity events that we have organised over the years. In particular, support for Reunite International Child Abduction Centre

They worked so hard on this so please play and share the link 👍👍👍

Aleyah's 16th Birthday Video

Here is the video I made for Aleyah's birthday... It shows some of the places I went to on my travels on her 16th birthday (August 25th). It starts and ends message for her... One day closer xxx

Aleyah's 16th birthday on 25th August

Next Wednesday (25th August) will be my daughter Aleyah's 16th birthday..

As we have done every year since she was taken 12 years ago, we will be trying to celebrate the day as much as possible and keeping cards and messages from friends and family for her to read when we are reunited which hopefully will be in the near future.

Let me know if you would like a message from YOU kept for her. I will print out each and every message I receive for her but please, if you do, focus on wishes for her and NOT anger on the situation. I want her to read positive wishes!

If you want to leave a video message, then please send to me via email or WhatsApp... I would love to get some video recordings for her.. Especially from family and people that knew her when she was home in Spain..

We keep all messages etc in a memory chest for her so she will be able to see for herself that she is, and has always been in our minds and in our hearts and that she is missed so much .
We will also, of course, have cake to celebrate her day 🎂😉 and once again I will visit a few places she used to love to go when she was a young child and video those again like I did last year..

Thanks Michelle Clark and others who have stood by me, given your support over all these years. It really means so much... xx

Parental Child Abduction and Parental Alienation are extremely difficult situations for any target child, parent and family to have to face.

Hopefully, I will be able to finally complete Tandem Across Borders - Spain to UK next year which sadly I had to postpone again due to COVID restrictions...

Part of my reason for these events is to try to make this a vehicle to raise awareness of these issues..

I just want to thank again my amazing friends and family who I love and appreciate so much. You have helped to keep me strong, and smiling even when I have found some moments very difficult.

Aleyah.... If you read this, please know that not a day has gone by without you in my heart and in my mind and cannot wait for the day we are reunited... Please reach out... I am always here for you... Always have been... Always will be!!

We are one more day closer.. There will be an end to this madness.. Always loving you.. Forever your dad xx

Another plea to my daughter's maternal family

I continue to plea to the maternal family to end this madness. Enough is enough. The tactics to remove Aleyah from her home in Spain (for the 2nd time) were dispicable. Unforgivable..

It allowed you to achieve your objective. To erase Aleyah's paternal family from your life. But in doing that, you are also alienating Aleyah from her paternal family who love her unconditionally.

It is time to move forward and think of our daughter. She is an amazing young lady and has been given opportunities on stage that I probably couldnt have provided but what I would have provided is a loving relationship with both the maternal and paternal families.

I am so proud of her for everything she is achieving and also the way that her teachers say that she is keeping her feet on the ground. I am looking forward to receiving her exam results from school...

As you know, up until this horrific Covid situation, I had visited the school almost every term despite the attempts keep information from me..

One day I am sure you know we will be reunited and that day is naturally becoming closer... She is 16 this month..

Aleyah is on my mind every single day and she does not deserve to be deceived in the way she has been.

Changing her name on stage, lies, deception, alienation, false allegations etc will never take away the fact that I am her father and I will always look out for her in any way I can.

You know this is the right thing to do even if you would never admit to the tactics you have used. It is time to move forward and allow her to have her father and paternal family in her life.

Update - June 5th, 2021

Firstly, I apologise for being so quiet on this page for the past few weeks. As you know, this dreadful Covid situation still continues to give us uncertainty so I did not feel that I could advertise the cycle while I cannot give an answer to whether I would need to delay until a later date. Sadly, it is becoming more apparent that this might be the case.

However, at the moment, I am STILL planning as if this is going ahead on schedule but I will make a decision after we hear what the situation is towards the end of June.

I have made some contingency plans should the situation be no clearer after this date.

1) Postpone the Tandem Across Borders event until 2022

2) Reroute Tandem Across Borders to be a circuit of Spain. I dont feel comfortable about this as
a) It wont be going "Across Borders"
b) The two supported charities are British charities and, of course, this is Spain...

3) Postpone Tandem Across Borders until 2022 BUT ALSO do a separate event for a SPANISH charity this year as a circuit around Spain (over 3,000km) on the dates I am currently scheduled to do Tandem Across Borders

At the moment, I am unsure; but should it continue to be unwise to travel across international borders (or too difficult due to vaccine/quarantine etc), plan 3 seems to be the most likely option....

However, I please ask that you continue to support the two supported charities for Tandem Across Borders - Spain to UK as the cycle WILL happen... I just cant confirm when as we all need to be sensible in these very testing times..

Details of Day 21 of 21 - Harlow to Peacehaven via Royal Court of Justice

Day 21 of 21 of Tandem Across Borders on 9th September 2022... If all goes to plan, this is OUR LAST DAY...

We will start the day in Harlow and will cycle to the Royal Court of Justice in London where we will stop for a couple of hours to hopefully meet up with friends and supporters of the two charities we are trying to raise funds for.

Our stop at the court is part of the awareness campaign against parental alienation, parental child abduction and the abuse of the family court systems.

For me personally, this resulted in my daughter being separated from her paternal family for over a decade and, sadly also, permanently stopping her from seeing her paternal grandmother who passed away shortly after Walk Across Borders  in 2015.

Outside RCJ after 1750km walk in 2015

This is not quite the end of our journey though as we are still going to cycle to Croydon, Earlswood, Crawley, Brighton and complete our journey at Peacehaven.
