Our Journey

In 2015, we completed a journey between Orihuela court and London Royal Court of Justice on foot. 44 marathons in 44 days with the hope of raising awareness of parental child abduction and parental alienation and also, on a very personal level, to show my daughter that I would travel the world for
her.

On that occasion, we raised funds for the Reunite
International Child Abduction Centre Charity

This time, with our cycle, as well as having another attempt at raising awareness of these issues, we hope to help to raise funds for another charity which is close to our heart and in memory of an inspirational young lady Alice Pyne (Alices Escapes (1146011))

I am aiming to raise £5000 to fund the upkeep of one of their caravans.

The charity offers complimentary holidays for families with seriously-ill-children, along with breaks for those who have lost their child. Please read more about this amazing charity on the link.

The second charity is Parental Alienation Awareness (1187738) who aim to raise awareness, educate, & campaign against this form of child abuse that needlessly disconnects children, parents, & their extended families.

This, many of you know, I can directly relate to...

We are hoping to raise £2000 to help with publishing and distribution costs in the production of parental alienation awareness brochures.

I understand the covid situation has caused financial hardship for many.. Charities like this are also finding these times extremely testing.

If you cant help financially, thats ok. But could I ask that you share my JustGiving page links so others can help to support one or both of these worthy charities?

Thanks all xx

Alice's Escapes Charity

This is the charity we are supporting with Tandem Across Borders - Spain to UK in August and September 2020 (over 2600km in 21 days)

If anyone had unbelievable courage in the most heartbreaking of situations, it was Alice Pyne, founder of Alice's Escapes. She was an absolute inspiration, as are her sister Milly and her mother Vicky

Alice, when she became ill at such a young age, created a bucket list of things she wanted to do in the time she had left.. And she achieved many of them, including setting up the Alice's Escapes charity.

That is strength, grit and determination..

She never gave up.. This is her legacy so I am happy to be able to help in a small way to keep that alive.

A JustGiving page has been set up. Please help me reach my fundraising goal for this wonderful charity. Even the smallest of donations are greatly appreciated.

Thank you to those who have donated so far.

Update - Tandem Across Borders

As you might know, I was going to support Reunite International Child Abduction Centre AND Alice's Escapes in the Tandem Across Borders cycle later this year

Unfortunately, Reunite have been advised that in me associating the cycle with Reunite (a charity that was set up to support families affected by Parental Child Abduction) , this would be breaching a publicity order attached to my case and as a public organisation, it could have detrimental consequences for them if they promote it.

Sadly, I have been asked to take down any reference to Reunite with this cycle which have done with a heavy heart and a feeling of bitter disappointment.

After a decade of supporting the Reunite International Child Abduction Centre charity with numerous events, activities and ventures as you can see from my teams page..

All of these ventures and events were organised despite the publicity order which obviously concerns me why the situation appears to have changed

HOWEVER.. I feel that it highlights even further how the family courts can be used / abused to silence parents who are doing everything they can to be involved in their children's lives despite the brick walls placed in front of them.

NOT ONLY THAT, it can also silence 3rd parties which appears to be evident here!!

I am bitterly disappointed but the cycle will go ahead regardless...

My objectives remain the same. To raise awareness of Parental Child Abduction, parental alienation and how parents, families AND children can be so badly let down in the family courts in various juristictions in situations like this.

With regard to my own daughter, I want her to know that not a day goes by without her being in my heart and in my mind and continue to plead with her maternal family to put an end to this madness.

We also wish to raise some funds for an extremely worthy charity which Alice's Escapes most certainly is.

If anyone had unbelievable courage in the most heartbreaking of situations, it was Alice Pyne, founder of Alice's Escapes. She was an absolute inspiration, as are her sister and mother..

This is her legacy so I am happy to be able to help in a small way to keep that alive.

PLEASE SHARE - TANDEM ACROSS BORDERS

Hi all

I am sending this message out to family, friends, supporters of the Alice's Escapes charity and anybody else who might be reading this.

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST. Even if you can't help in any other way

As you might already know, in August 2020, I intend to cycle on tandem between Cabo Roig, Spain and UK. Approximately 2600km in 21 days.

The charity I am supporting for this cycle is Alice's Escapes who offer complimentary holidays for families with seriously-ill-children, along with breaks for those who have lost their child.

I am sure you will agree, this is an extremely worthy cause. Please click on these links to learn more.

Any donations, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.

During the ride, on a separate issue, I will also be trying to raise awareness of Parental Child Abduction, parental alienation and failures in the family court processes which have a significant importance to me and my family.

The route plan for the cycle is shown on my blog post link below

https://tandemacrossborders.blogspot.com/2020/01/route-plan-for-tandem-across-borders.html?m=1

I will be cycling the full distance but the plan is to have various co-riders/stokers on each day. The distance these volunteers complete is entirely up to them. Whether it's 10km or 100km I would so appreciate the support.

It could be that groups of people travel together in the same car so one could ride while the others act as the support vehicle and swap over during the stage(s). That would also allow for the volunteer Stokers to be taken to their required end point at the end of the day.

I have created Facebook Events for each stage which you can let me know which days you would like to help and we can group people together to make the necessary arrangements.

I will post the names of volunteers on these event pages (unless you tell me otherwise) and will put you in contact with others volunteering on the same day to arrange transport etc.

https://m.facebook.com/pg/TandemAcrossBorders/events/?ref=bookmarks&mt_nav=0

Any days or part days that I dont have a Co-Riders / Stoker with me, I will be cycling alone. Obviously, I would rather have somebody cycling with me at ALL times but realise that might not be possible

Also each day, I hope to find one or more company sponsors that will be advertised on the blogs/vlogs/youtube that we post en route. Any company / organisation who donates €50+ will be mentioned and advertised with thanks. If you wish, we could also arrange advertising on shirts etc. Please contact me to discuss further.

Thanks

Tandem Across Borders Objectives

I went out earlier today on the bike. Only for a couple of hours though.

Taking into consideration I'm a casual cyclist.. Not by any means an expert.. And getting on a bit in years, Tandem Across Borders will be a challenge. Its over 2600km in 21 days!! I do keep fairly fit when not visiting hospital with injuries but this won't be easy... 😂

Those who know me, know how stubborn I am though.. I dont give up on a challenge 😜 and I won't be told I can't do it.. It will be an experience..

Over the years I have met people through Parental Child Abduction/Alienation and Reunite parents, who are amazing people.

Many are dedicated, loving parents who have been walked all over by the family court processes.

Some have suffered mental, financial and physical trauma through their experiences and in a couple of instances I know first hand, they not only felt forced to give up on seeing their children, they tragically gave up on life. Who is responsible for this?

It needs people to do something to raise awareness of these issues and not just give sympathy for these situations.

Everybody can do something but doing nothing achieves nothing.. Being a bystander achieves nothing other than empowering the failures in the family court system that have lead to the situation many families find themselves in today..

As part of this cycle, THIS is what I wish to raise awareness of.. If you don't understand how bad this is, then you are blessed.. I wish I didn't either...

Before I sought to bring our child home again through the family court system, I just assumed that she would be returned for the 2nd time..

Little did I know that such devious, cruel, dishonest tactics could be used to keep us apart into our 10th year!!!  I believed the courts would see through the lies and deceptions.

We are one more day closer..

As well as raising awareness of these issues, the charity we are supporting on this journey is Alice's Escapes

Please please please be generous with your donations... It is an extremely worthy charity.. Even the smallest amount they would be grateful for.

If anyone had unbelievable courage in the most heartbreaking of situations, it was Alice Pyne . She was an absolute inspiration, as are her sister and mother..

Alice, when she became ill at such a young age, created a bucket list of things she wanted to do in the time she had left.. And she achieved many of them, including setting up the Alice's Escapes charity.. THAT is strength, grit and determination that our cycle doesn't even come close to.. She never ever gave up .. This is her legacy so we are happy to be able to help in a small way to keep that alive.

Please help me to raise some funds for this charity on the link below
