Parent alienation also often has a huge impact on grandparents. More often than not, if a child is alienated and/or refused contact with the parent, contact with the grandparents is also affected or even severed.. This is cruel on the grandparents and the child.
In my daughter's case, 5 years after she was taken, my mother; my daughter's paternal grandmother sadly passed away (2015 a few weeks after returning from our Walk Across Borders - Raising awareness of Parental Abduction & Alienation event)
They absolutely adored each other and now, they can NEVER be reunited.. For them, there is NO one day closer 😢
I commend the Parental Alienation Awareness UK charity for recognising the hurt also inflicted on the grandparents. As well as the alienation of their grandchildren, they also have to worry about the impact on THEIR child which in many cases, must be devastating.. xx
